What it does

A Suspicious traffic card on your dashboard. It lists each day where one source or country suddenly brought far more visitors than usual and nearly all of them left after one page within seconds, with a View without it button.

Why it matters

Referral spam and cheap traffic bots can double a day’s visitors and wreck your bounce rate and conversion rate. Seeing the burst, and your numbers without it, keeps decisions based on real people.

How to use it

  1. Open your dashboard on a 7, 30 or 90-day range and find Suspicious traffic. With no bursts it simply says so.
  2. For each flagged day, read the source or country, how many visitors it brought against its usual day, and how many left after one page within 5 seconds.
  3. Tap View without it to see your stats with a referrer or country filter, then save that view as a segment if the traffic is fake.

How it works

How suspicious traffic is flagged1. Pageviews in the range are folded into visitor-days, then into totals per day, source and country inside the database. 2. For each source and country: its usual day is the median of the other days (days with none count as 0). 3. Flag a day with 15+ visitors, 4× its usual day or more, and 85%+ leaving after one page within 5 seconds. (otherwise: Only totals leave the database) 4. A country burst that the same day’s source burst explains is folded into the source. 5. The card lists the bursts; View without it adds a referrer!= or country!= filter you can save as a segment.1Pageviews in the range arefolded into visitor-days, theninto totals per day, sourceand country inside thedatabase.2For each source and country:its usual day is the median ofthe other days (days with nonecount as 0).3Flag a day with 15+ visitors,4× its usual day or more, and85%+ leaving after one pagewithin 5 seconds.Only totalsleave thedatabase4A country burst that the sameday’s source burst explains isfolded into the source.5The card lists the bursts;View without it adds areferrer!= or country!= filteryou can save as a segment.

Questions

Does View without it delete anything?

No. It is a filter on your view. Your data stays as it is, and you can remove the filter at any time.

Why only 15+ visitors?

Small sites see random swings every day. The minimum keeps the card quiet unless a burst is big enough to move your numbers.

Can it block the traffic?

Not yet. It shows the burst and your stats without it. Known bots are already blocked by the collector.
