What it is

A Domains page for each site: list up to 5 other domains (say shop.example.com and help.example.net) and they are counted as part of the site. One total for all of them, and a table of visitors and pageviews on each domain.

Why it matters

Many businesses live on more than one domain. Separate sites mean separate totals that double-count anyone who visits two of them, and every move from the blog to the shop shows up as a referral. One site with several domains gives you one true total.

How it works

  1. Open Domains from your dashboard (UTM campaigns card) and add the other domains, one per line. Then add the same script tag, with the same data-site, to each domain.
  2. quietstats accepts pageviews and events from the main domain, any listed domain and their subdomains. Anything else is still refused.
  3. Visitors are counted with the same cookie-free daily hash, which is per site, so one person on the blog and the shop on the same day is one visitor.
  4. Moving from one of your domains to another is not a referral. Each pageview on a listed domain notes which domain it was, so the table can split the totals.

Set it up

Nothing to set up: it works with the standard one-line script.

HTML
<script data-host="https://quietstats.co.uk" data-dnt="true" src="https://quietstats.co.uk/js/script.js" id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async defer></script>

Privacy: what is and isn’t collected

Collected

  • Nothing new about visitors: no cookies and no link tagging between domains
  • Which of your listed domains a pageview was on, on the same row (empty for the main domain)

Never collected

  • Cookies, localStorage or anything else stored on the visitor’s device
  • IP addresses or user agents (used in memory, then discarded)
  • Anything that links a visitor across days (the visitor ID resets daily)

Rows and limits

  • 0 script bytes, 0 extra rows per pageview; saving the list writes 1 row
  • Up to 5 other domains per site
  • A page with the same path on two domains (such as /) shows as one line in Pages; the Domains table splits the totals
  • Page speed, display preferences, revenue and AI crawler add-ons still count on the main domain only
  • Rows: 2 reads per Domains page view over the range’s pageviews

“Rows” are database rows written, which is what our hosting is billed on. Reads are not rows written. Methodology →

Questions

Do I need to change links between my domains?

No. There is no link decoration and no cookie. The same person is matched only on the same day, the same cookie-free way as on one domain.

What about subdomains?

Subdomains of the main domain (like blog.example.com) are already counted. List only different domains.

Can I take a domain out again?

Yes. Remove it from the list and save. Its past pageviews stay in your totals; new ones from it are refused.
