AI search referrals
Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok and other assistants get their own AI channel and their own report.

What it does
An “AI” channel on the dashboard and an AI referrals page: which assistant sent each visitor, the pages they landed on, pages per visit, and how many reached your goals compared with everyone else.
Why it matters
More people now ask an assistant before they search. This shows whether AI tools cite you and whether those visitors are worth it.
How to use it
- On the Sources card, open the AI assistants tab.
- Press ✦ AI above the dashboard for the AI referrals report: visitors per assistant, landing pages and goal rate.
- Add an alert rule for AI visitors going down.
How it works
- Referrers from known AI assistant domains are put in the AI channel.
- The AI page compares AI visitors’ goal rate with all visitors.
- You can add an alert rule for AI visitors going down.
Privacy
- Collected: Referrer domain
- No cookies, and nothing stored on the visitor’s device.
- Reports show totals only: never a visitor list, IP address or single visit.
Limits
- Rows: 0 extra per pageview
- Only assistants that send a referrer can be counted; Google AI Overviews and Grok inside X arrive as google.com and x.com
Plans
Every plan, including Free. quietstats is free during launch: the Free plan covers 1 site and 5,000 pageviews a month, and no card is needed. See pricing.
Questions
Why are some AI visits missing?
Some apps open links without a referrer, so those visits count as Direct. No analytics tool can see a referrer that was never sent.
Is this in the API?
Yes, the AI channel is a breakdown property in the Stats API.
