Live visitors and live events
See how many people are on your site right now, what they are doing, and where in the world they are.

What it does
A pulsing counter of unique visitors in the last 5 minutes, a live world map, and a feed of sign-ups, clicks, downloads and other custom events from the last 30 minutes. Night mode turns the live map into a calm full-screen view for a wall screen or TV.
Why it matters
Launch day, a newsletter going out or a post taking off on Reddit: the live view tells you in seconds whether it is working, without waiting for tomorrow’s numbers.
How to use it
- The “visitors now” counter sits at the top of your dashboard.
- Press Live view → for the map, current pages, sources and the events feed.
- Use night mode on a wall screen; it dims the map.
How it works
- The counter refreshes every 30 seconds while the dashboard is open.
- A visitor counts as “now” if one of their pageviews arrived in the last 5 minutes.
- The events feed lists event names and properties only. No visitor IDs are shown.
- Night mode dims the map and asks the browser to keep the screen awake where it allows it.
Privacy
- Collected: The pageviews and custom events you already collect, nothing extra
- No cookies, and nothing stored on the visitor’s device.
- Reports show totals only: never a visitor list, IP address or single visit.
Limits
- Live window: last 5 minutes for visitors, last 30 minutes for events
- Rows: 0 extra per pageview (the live view only reads)
Plans
Every plan, including Free. quietstats is free during launch: the Free plan covers 1 site and 5,000 pageviews a month, and no card is needed. See pricing.
Questions
Does the live view need a different script?
No. Visitors show up with the standard script. Events appear when you use the optional events script.
Can I try it without signing up?
Yes. The public demo has a live view with made-up demo data at /demo/live.
