When-they-visit heatmap

What it is

A 7 × 24 grid of pageviews by day of the week and hour of the day, in your site’s time zone (UK time by default).

Why it matters

Post, send and deploy when your readers are around, and schedule maintenance when they aren’t.

How it works

1. Each pageview’s time is converted to your site’s time zone.
2. Squares are shaded relative to the busiest hour in the range.
3. Change the site’s time zone in its settings.

Set it up

Nothing to set up: it works with the standard one-line script.

<script data-host="https://quietstats.co.uk" data-dnt="true" src="https://quietstats.co.uk/js/script.js" id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async defer></script>

Privacy: what is and isn’t collected

Collected

• Pageview time

Never collected

• Cookies, localStorage or anything else stored on the visitor’s device
• IP addresses or user agents (used in memory, then discarded)
• Anything that links a visitor across days (the visitor ID resets daily)

Rows and limits

• Rows: 0 extra per pageview

“Rows” are database rows written, which is what our hosting is billed on. Reads are not rows written. Methodology →
