What it is

Campaign tags from the page address, shown as their own tables and used for the Email and Paid channels.

Why it matters

Find out which newsletter, post or ad actually brought people, rather than guessing from the referrer.

How it works

  1. Add utm_ tags to the links you share.
  2. The script sends the page address; the collector reads the tags and stores them in lower case.
  3. Filter or segment by any tag.

Set it up

Nothing to set up: it works with the standard one-line script.

HTML
<script data-host="https://quietstats.co.uk" data-dnt="true" src="https://quietstats.co.uk/js/script.js" id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async defer></script>

Privacy: what is and isn’t collected

Collected

  • utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term

Never collected

  • Cookies, localStorage or anything else stored on the visitor’s device
  • IP addresses or user agents (used in memory, then discarded)
  • Anything that links a visitor across days (the visitor ID resets daily)

Rows and limits

  • Rows: 0 extra per pageview

“Rows” are database rows written, which is what our hosting is billed on. Reads are not rows written. Methodology →

How others do it

How the tools on our compare page handle this, from their own websites and help pages, checked on 21 October 2026. “Not stated” means we could not find it on the pages we checked, not that it doesn’t exist. Plans and prices change, so follow the source links. GA4, Plausible, Fathom, Simple Analytics, Umami, GoatCounter, Matomo all offer this too.
