What it is

An Alerts inbox per account. Spikes come with the top source and the page most people landed on. Rules watch visitors, pageviews, bounce rate or AI visitors.

Why it matters

You shouldn’t have to open the dashboard every day to notice something changed.

How it works

  1. Rules: a metric, then above, below or down by %, over yesterday or the last 7 days.
  2. “Down by %” compares yesterday with the same weekday a week before, or the last 7 days with the 7 before.
  3. Checked daily; a rule fires at most once a day (or once a week for 7-day rules).

Set it up

Nothing to set up: it works with the standard one-line script.

HTML
<script data-host="https://quietstats.co.uk" data-dnt="true" src="https://quietstats.co.uk/js/script.js" id="YOUR_SITE_ID" async defer></script>

Privacy: what is and isn’t collected

Collected

  • Nothing new

Never collected

  • Cookies, localStorage or anything else stored on the visitor’s device
  • IP addresses or user agents (used in memory, then discarded)
  • Anything that links a visitor across days (the visitor ID resets daily)

Rows and limits

  • Up to 10 rules per site
  • In the app inbox today; email or Slack delivery is on the roadmap
  • Rows: 1 when an alert fires; 0 per pageview

“Rows” are database rows written, which is what our hosting is billed on. Reads are not rows written. Methodology →

How others do it

How the tools on our compare page handle this, from their own websites and help pages, checked on 21 October 2026. “Not stated” means we could not find it on the pages we checked, not that it doesn’t exist. Plans and prices change, so follow the source links. GA4, Plausible, Matomo all offer this too.
